Chellis Baird earned her BFA in textiles from Rhode Island School of Design and studied studio art at the Art Students League in New York City. Baird previously worked as a designer for renowned fashion labels such as Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Tuleh.
Baird’s accomplishments include receiving a fellowship at the National Arts Club in New York, marking a significant milestone in her career. In the fall of 2021, Baird showcased her first solo museum exhibition at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in South Carolina. She also held solo shows at notable venues like the Louise Nevelson Chapel and the National Arts Club.
In addition to her exhibitions Baird contributes her expertise to the New York City Culture Club as a board member. Her artwork is in several prestigious private collections and has been featured in esteemed publications such as The New York Times, Artnet, Elle Magazine, Forbes, Architectural Digest, Luxe Interiors Magazine, and Portray Magazine.
Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Baird now lives and works in New York City. She is represented by Slag & RX galleries in NY and Paris.
